Teague is now 8 months and is such a bundle of FUN!! He loves this green catipillar that my mom gave him for Christmas. He already knows his ABC's......j/k.

I think this is why I waited so LONG to feed Teague solids. It can be so Messy, but the little guy LOVES to EAT!!
It finally snowed again and the kids went outside to play. Avery decided to stand this one out and just watch (smart girl)!!

This is the chair that Teague hangs out in quite abit. He LOVES it and is so content just playing with all the little gadgets on it....it's been one good investment.

Alyssa and her gymnastics class! She likes to do things 'by herself' and is actually doing a pretty good job of it.

Avery is such a big help with Teague....she loves to hold him and has just recently started to pick him up and carry him...not sure how I feel about that one yet!!

Teague has hit his 6 month mark....my how fast time flies!! He weighs just over 18 pounds and is about 25 inches long. He is such a HAPPY baby and LOVES to be entertained by his siblings. We have attempted to try solids and he's not too fond of them at this point....we'll keep trying!!

I left my camera battery/charger at Lake Mc. when we went about a month ago. I finally found it and recieved it in the mail this week!! I am so excited....there will definately be more photos to come, but in the meantime here is a picture of how big our little Teaguers is getting. He is just about 5 1/2 months old and, of course, the cutest little boy around!!

Birthdays and School Days!!

Summer went by way too FAST this year. I wasn't quite ready to send the kiddos off to school, but they were ready to hit the BOOKS.....more photos to come as far as our summer time FUN, but for now you can enjoy these!!What a great KID! Zac celebrated his 7th birthday on Monday, the first day of school. He's now in FIRST grade and is gone ALL day! I did shed a few tears to see this little guy go off to school. He loves to READ and is so excited to LEARN! He was able to go to a Denver Broncos Game (pre-season) with Brian and a couple friends for his birthday.

What a great little GIRL!! I'm pretty sure I was as HAPPY as Avery in the above photo!! She has such a FUN personality and in the photo above she was walking to the bus stop. She informed me that I didn't need to walk her to the bus, she could do it herself....Well, I went anyway and she wasn't even an ounce bit scared. She LOVES kindergarten and I can't believe she's old enough to go!!

Avery turned 5 on August 3rd and was so excited to have her own BARBIE Birthday BASH!! I made the cake and I don't think it turned out too bad. AVERY was in HEAVEN on her PARTY day!!

July 4th Weekend!!

YEAH for the 4th of July this year!! Teague was blessed on Sunday the 4th and we have had a great time celebrating with family over the last couple of days. The pictures below explain all of the fun that we had--how could you not with a house full of 20 people--RIGHT?? (I'm sure my sister and sister-in-laws have more pictures so hopefully they will share as well).

Lots and Lots of swimming!! We went to waterworld (huge waterpark) one day as well as our community pool.

Teague's first Rockies game and he slept through about half of it, but I'm pretty sure he fell in love with the game. We were able to watch fireworks after the game and they were SPECTACULAR!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME.....and BABY TEAGUE. The hospital where I delivered came in and sang Happy Birthday to ME and gave us this delicious cake as well as a card. The cafeteria staff and a few of the labor and delivery nurses came and sang to me. My doctor actually gave me two days that I could be induced--the first being the 12th of May and the second being Friday, the 14th. I told him that I didn't want to be induced on the 12th because it was my birthday and if I had to pick, I wasn't going to SHARE my birthday with anyone....how selfish of me RIGHT? I ended up going into labor on my own and delivered at 2:45 pm on the 12th. I honestly can't think of a better birthday present than that of the little guy being born on my birthday.
We came home from the hospital on Friday the 14th and then had to return on Saturday the 15th because of Teague's bilirubin levels being too high. He was able to soak in the rays for a couple of days with these awesome shades!! Finally, after two days of sunbathing, we were able to return home!!

Zac's 1st season of basketball ended this week. He had a lot of fun playing and although he is small, his arm strength continues to amaze me. He loves playing and it has been fun to watch them progress--a bunch of 5-6yr olds know how to turn basketball into a game of rugby at times and it can be fun to watch!!

This past weekend I was able to travel to Utah and spend some time with my mom, grandma, sister, and sister-in-laws. We had a good time together and, of course, did a LOT of shopping. Did I mention that kids and spouses were not invited? We stayed in a hotel for a couple of nights and then a few of us at my grandmother's on Sunday night. THANKS everyone for such a nice relaxing time--You are all awesome and I'm thankful for such great family members!! P.S. the above photo is of my grandpa who is 82 years old and pushing a gigantic snow blower up and down the sidewalks where he lives. This is how he spent his time while the girls were out shopping around!! hehe (I just had to add the photo because he is so cute).

Herbie's Basketball Injury

Just thought I would update everyone on Brian's status......and of course to show off his awesome looking cast. A couple of weeks ago, he was playing basketball and landed wrong on his foot, since he was unable to apply any pressure on it, he decided to have it x-rayed.....not a bad idea since he had actually broken it. He's in a cast for 6-12 weeks depending on how quickly the healing process goes. He's non-weight bearing on the foot; therefore, is getting along quite well with his crutches. He just had a new cast put on and Avery wanted it to be pink---looks like he didn't cave on that one.

......a very special delivery to the Herbert Home in May 2010. YEP--that's right no summer to mid fall babies for us. This fourth little bundle of joy will arrive just after tax season and just before the busy summer months ahead (maybe he/she will have a better chance of looking like me--since May is my birthday month--hehe). We are very excited and can't wait to have a new little one around the house again!

I have been terrible at blogging over the past three months or so---no excuses, just a matter of pure laziness and then our computer was out of commission for a couple of weeks. I know it's been awhile since I have last posted, we have actually done a lot since May; however, have been a little on the lazy side when it comes to blogging. I couldn't pass up taking a photo of Alyssa's nap time. We just recently have moved Alyssa's crib into Zac's room because they seem to sleep a lot longer in the same room together (not quite this close, Zac does have his own bed) than the duo combo of Alyssa and Avery. I am just hoping that Zac won't teach her how to climb out of bed or we could really be in for some trouble!!

A couple of weeks ago the kids and I traveled by plane to Las Vegas where my sister lives. My nephew, Elijah was baptized and we were able to visit for abit. HERE'S a LOOK of what WE HAVE been up TO over the PAST few WEEKS!!

Zac, Grandpa, Avery

Grandpa and Grandma Wren came for a visit and we had so much fun. The kids (as well as mom) love when the grandparents come. They are so much more fun than the boring old parents!! One night we were sitting at dinner and Alyssa had her food all over--hair, face, clothes...etc. Out of the blue Zac says, "oh man that sucks", Of course my little Zac has never said anything like that before (I know shocking). Anyway, when asked where he learned it, he said grandpa had said it earlier while playing a game with he and Avery.

My dad really likes to watch his TV--game shows, basketball, news--you name it. One afternoon when he had gone to the bathroom, Zac handed the remote to my mom and said, "let's hurry and change the channel to something we like before grandpa gets back". It was pretty cute!! As long as my dad has his remote, diet pepsi, carrots, trail mix and an occasional nap--we have a happy camper!! THANKS for coming, can't wait for the next visit!!

ALYSSA--just turned 18 months and is so CUTE!! She is growing up way too fast....and just for journaling purposes, I have to say that I was thrilled because most of you know what that means on Sundays--NURSERY!! How exciting to be able to go to church and listen/teach without a toddler running around RIGHT?? Well, to put it mildly she DISLIKES nursery and doesn't only cry when you leave her, but SCREAMS. The nursery leaders can't even seem to calm her down. I know you're thinking this cute little angelic being can scream--well she can. Since I'm in Primary, Brian is the lucky man that gets to hang out with her in nursery. He can't even bat an eyelash let alone stand up in the room without her getting upset. The funny thing about the whole nursery scene is that I was so sure she would love it--drop her off, kiss her good-bye and be on our merry way for a few hours. Oh WELL--that's what you get for being a little over confident. Let's just hope that by the time she's 2 she'll be loving it..........and her favorite thing to say about Nursery right now is NNOO!!

After 4 days of living in dust, extra company, and lots of noise--our hardwood floors are finally done and we LOVE THEM. Here are a few photos of the final product!!

The weather in Colorado has been crazy warm lately. Nothing like eating an ice cream cone in the middle of February. Alyssa's new found treat--I think she even finished the cone with no help at all!! She about looks as scrumptious as the cone. Couldn't you just eat her up?

BUG TAG

My sister-in-law, Destiny BUG TAGGED me this week which means that I am supposed to share 10 things that incredibly bug me! I'm not usually one to follow-up on tags; however, this little bug was too cute to pass up.

1. People who use the restroom and then leave without washing their hands. Don't worry--I take mental note on these people and think to myself, Please don't touch anyone/thing that is around me.

2. My husband is awesome and so adorable; however, Is it REALLY necessary to change the channel everytime there is a commercial?

3. WALMARTS--I hope not to offend and I do occasionally shop there; however, I'm not a huge fan. It's just something about dirty floors and unstocked shelves that is irritating (perhaps I'm the only one that has an issue).

4. AUTOMATED machines--when you want to call and talk to someone regarding an account/bill and all you get are the machines....'I'm sorry I did not understand....did you say speak to a representative?' Just thinking about it, gets me irritated.

5. I really, really don't like clutter accumulating around the house. If something sits out for more than a day or so--I usually end up throwing it away.

6. People who carry cell phones and you try calling, knowing that they wouldn't go a minute without it and then they don't answer. I just know they are looking at the number thinking, "Oh, I'll just call her back later."

7. BUFFETS--the all-you-can-eat one stop dining--Not a huge fan.

8. Patients who come to the ER and want a prescription for Motrin---REALLY, maybe you should take the money that you just spent on the vending machines and buy your own. (ok--maybe a little harsh, but it BUGS me).

9. LAUNDRY--it seems that I'm constantly doing it. Just when you think your done, you turn around and there's more to be done. It's a never-ending process!!

10. DRIVING home to Idaho and having to go through the always windy, desolate state of WYOMING---it really is just not fun!!

The Rec Center where we live had a Christmas Day Celebration so the kids and I went to have some fun!! Zac and Avery are no longer afraid to sit on Santa's lap. (I think they figured out what happens if you tell Santa what you want for Christmas). Zac said he wanted a scooter and Avery said she wanted lipstick.

After the lights were put on, the kids had fun decorating the tree. We'll see how long it stays standing--Alyssa is having a little bit TOO much fun with the tree already and it's only the first day of December......AND in case anyone is wondering--it is A REAL TREE with the REAL smell of freshly cut pine!!

We were lucky enough to have visitors two different times this month. My parents came to visit the first part of the month and then my youngest brother, Shawn and his wife, Destiny came to visit last week. We had so much fun and are so greatful for such wonderful family!! The top two pictures are of my dad playing with the kids and then reading them a story. The bottom two are pretty self-explanatory. (Destiny had to take her spot right in the middle of the two kids every time we went somewhere). They loved sitting right next to her--Avery was in heaven!

The second video clip is of her at pre-school. They put on a mother-goose nursery rhyme program for the parents. She did great at both performances and we are so proud of her!!

Here's a little video captured at Avery's gymnastics program (more photos/clips to come) of Alyssa walking. She'll usually start walking, realize what she's doing and then decide to crawl. It's actually kind of funny because at the end, people are actually clapping for the performance of the kids; however, the clapping happens as soon as Alyssa throws her hands in the air (as if they were clapping for her).

I don't think there's any mistake on who these kids belong to. Aren't they all just so adorable (including Herbie). The top two pictures were taken just before church last Sunday.
This picture is kind of random, but I thought it was hilarious. I turned around one day to talk to Zac and found him hitching a ride on the garage door while it was opening. He told me that he thought about doing it by himself one day and then just did it.

BEST BUDDY

Last time we were in Utah, we were able to see my cousin, Nateijie and her little dog, Best Buddy. Ever since this time AVERY has been in love with BEST BUDDY; therefore, she has named her stuffed dog Best Buddy, as well as the dog on her shirt. She cried when we had to part from Best Buddy--but I informed her that they will meet up again sometime soon. (My cousin is a little bit crazy and she takes her dog everywhere--even to the extent of putting her in a little duffle bag and zipping it closed when she's at resturants just like Elle, in Legally Blond).

Alyssa had tubes put in her ears this morning and did great, other than being totally exhausted. I also forgot to post her one year markings (I know I'll eventually lose the paper that they are written on if I don't jot them down).

WEIGHT: 21.2 pounds (50th%--cute as can be).

HEIGHT: 27.6 inches (5-10th%--she's right on track with the others)!

HEAD: 18.2 (75-9oth%--must take after their dad) hehe

My baby girl turned one (on the 17th)!! The time flies by so fast and I can't believe she's already one. We had lunch with Brian (who, by the way, has been found) downtown and then he took the rest the day off and we went to the zoo. I think Zac and Avery actually had more fun at the zoo than Alyssa--but it was so great to be all together.

Alyssa LOVED eating the CAKE!! I don't think she knew what to do at first; however, once she ahad a lick of icing--she couldn't resist another bite. After the cake--it was right to the kitchen sink. I figured it was probably a good idea to clean her off before taking a walk of the stairs (notice how clean the water is).

OK--maybe I changed the words to the song a little, but YEAH for ZAC!! He can now ride his bike with no training wheels!! However, I do have to tell a little story about the song playing--Zac came home one day and was singing, "I can ride my bike with no handlebars, no handlebars, I can ride my bike with no handlebars, no handlebars," over and over again. Brian and I could not figure out where he had learned the words until one day our friend, Hollie was over at the Myers and heard the actual song being played (little did we know Zac was a fan of rap). He did finally tell us that he learned it from the neighbors little boy. SO now we'll work on riding his bike with no handlebars (j/k).

Alyssa is now battling her 5th ear infection since February of this year. She had an appointment with the ENT doctor yesterday and will have tubes placed on September 26th. YEAH--bring on the winter months ear infection free!!

HAPPY 5th B-Day ZAC!!

Our baby Zac turned 5 on the 16th of Aug. (I'm just a few days late in posting). I have to tell a little story about his party. He was so excited to turn 5 because he finally was able to have a birthday party and invite his friends. Being the middle of August--HOT SUMMER DAY's--a perfect way to celebrate a party outside with water toys/baseball RIGHT?? Well- long story short, it happened to be 50 degrees and RAINY!! We had to move the outdoor water party indoors, but with a little brainstorming we managed to have some FUN!!
The Baseball Cake--(I think it turned out pretty darn good).
We had a big blow-up bat that we played "hit, hit RUN!! (similar to duck, duck, goose).
We then had the kids play Pin the baseball on the X--this was painted on an inside wall that is going to be painted as soon as we get to it--(which will be a lot faster since a baseball is now the center of attraction when you walk in the house).
We also had them play with the water balloons in the garage, since Zac was determined to still use them. All in All, I think he had a fun party and I can't believe that he is 5. He's such a great kid and we are thrilled that he is a part of our family!!

WHITE REUNION

This year the White Reunion took place in Heber, City, UT. We had a lot of fun and there were plenty of activities for the kids to enjoy. Pictured below are some of the festivities we were able to enjoy. Zac and Brian were also able to go fishing 2-3 times and they loved it. (For more pictures--click on Kyle and J'lyns blog). The famous SAWDUST game where money and candy is placed inside the pool and then starting with small kids up to the adults (where coins are marked with tape--worth $$$), you begin digging. LOTS of FUN!!

My grandmother wore a skirt with pockets she had sewn and in each pocket was a "surprise." Each of the the great-grandkids were given tickets and then she would randomly wear the skirt throughout the reunion. It was a big hit!! THANKS GRANDMA!!

The famous BINGO game. The bingo game with my grandma is SERIOUS business. We play BINGO for prizes--there's no stopping or slowing down with my grandma. You have to be on your toes and be able to keep up with her in order to WIN!! She even wore her BINGO shirt and brought a whistle along with her this year.

Avery turned 3 yesterday and LOVES olives. Above is a picture of with "3" olives to show off how old she is. She is such a character and definately has quite the personality.

Aurora Resevoir

On Monday, we were able to go to the Aurora Resevoir and spend some time with our friends Corrine and Carter Bell. We had so much fun and the kids LOVED the sand and water. Corrine and I just "basked" in the sun for hours!!

Finally, at the end of a great holiday, Zac and Avery's fun has just begun. They are off to Idaho to spend a week with the grandma's and grandpa's, cousins, and friends. Avery's comment to me was that I will be ok because Alyssa will be here to keep me company. She told me that she'll only be gone for awhile and then she'll be right back. WE LOVE YOU Zac and Avery and hope you have a great trip in IDAHO!!

My sister and family traveled to Colorado from Las Vegas and spent the fourth of July Holiday with us. It just so happened that my parents were passing through as well. We went to the Rockies game for the fourth and they WON!! 18-17 final score. We stayed for the fireworks after the game and then headed home for the night.

Obviously, Avery was a little bored at the game. She thought it was fun to "do" mom's hair while sitting on grandma's lap!!

Camping 2008

We had our first camping experience this past weekend and had so much fun. We started out by going to the Garden of the Gods and walked around for awhile. We were in the parking lot ready to get out and walk around, when Zac noticed there were a lot of different holes in the rocks. He called them Jesus's footprints and wanted to know why he had left them in the rocks.

We also went to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs!! It's HUGE!!
There was a creek that was located behind our tents. They had so much fun playing in the water. When we arrived home from camping--Zac asked if we could just leave the stuff in the car until the next time we went!!

One cute story--As Brian was getting ready to cut the fish, Zac was a little emotional and started crying. He didn't want his fish to be cut and cleaned. Avery was at his side and placed her hand on his shoulder and told him it would be ok because she would eat it.

It's a good thing Avery had her walking stick or I don't think she would have made it up the hill. We hike Mt. Cutter--one mile up and one mile down. The kids did great!!

Idaho Trip 2008

Our trip to Idaho started a couple of days prior to Memorial Day weekend. Our trip began with a visit to the Smart family in Sun Valley. Travel time was about 12 hrs. from here (added just a couple of hours longer to our drive). The kids were great sleepers and slept a total of 45 minutes the entire trip!! Overall, we can't complain--they did pretty well.
Zac had so much fun playing with friends (Maddux May) and cousins. It's hard to fit it all in and to visit everyone when we have such limited time--hopefully, next time we'll be able to see more friends/family!!

Father's/Son Campout

Zac was SSSOOO excited for the campout--He had his backpack set with his clothes and blanket--pillow in hand. No matter how hard Brian bribed him to stay at home and set the tent up in the backyard--it didn't work. They made their way to the "campground" (some land about 15 minutes away), set the tent up and then headed to WENDY's for chicken nuggets and a hamburger!! Brian's kind of camping---j/k.

Just thought I'd share Zac's last day of preschool with everyone. YES--the backpack is half the size of him and he LOVES riding the bus. I just have to share one bus story on behalf of Zac, only because I can laugh about it now. I was waiting for Zac to get off the bus one afternoon and it didn't come on time. The bus usually comes around 4:10 and it was about 4:20, so I began to worry just alittle. When 4:30 hit, I was pacing. I called my friend who has a little girl that rides the same bus and when I asked the question, "Sierra's not home from school yet, is she??" Her mom's response--OH, she's been home about 10 minutes. OK--PANIC mode on my part. I try calling the school--no answer. I finally contact someone at the "Bus Barn" and they came in contact with the bus driver--LONG story short--Zac had fallen asleep on the bus and the bus driver didn't notice until she had gone to park her bus and noticed that he had fallen asleep against the side. He eventually made it home, oblivious to anything that had happened!!

This post is dedicated to the Smarts--(thanks for the song Hollie). I thought it would be fun to highlight/journal some of the memories that we've had over the past couple of years. (I know there are many, many more--but here's just a few).

1. Renissance Apartments (Aurora) The first time we came to visit you guys in Aurora--you took us to the St. Patty's day parade. NOW that was fun.

2. Heatherridge Ward--(such a unique style of church with a mural wall painting behind the pulpit in the chapel).

3. The HO HO Chinese Restaruant (Hole in the wall)

4. Hollie's employment at SPRINT (which must of ended bitterly (j/k)--thus having NO cell phone for the past couple of years).

5. FRIENDS made in Aurora and Commerce City

6. Instantaneous FANS of the Colorado Rockies for being the National League Champions in 2007. (I fit under this category).

7. Avery's neverending walking ability--or disability??

8. Zac's black eye from running into the corner of Hollie's table. (I was at work one night and remember Brian saying that his eye "didn't look too bad." The next morning I was surprised to see a little boy with quite the black eye).

9. TRAFFIC--(How is it in Sun Valley)?

10. Never again, on a regular basis, will you have to drive through that awful state of WYOMING. That's enough to celebrate just thinking about!!

11. The birth of your son, GAVIN. (...and I apologize now that I won't be there for you to watch him next time you two are trying to........) Funny Funny!!

12. Pottery Barn/Crate&Barrel (I honestly think that Travis was converted to this higher standard of living while in Denver). I remember Hollie saying that he wanted to buy the chair for Gavin, not her.

13. ROCKY (he used to be such a pup).

14. Beyond Photo (THANKS for all the pictures/photos Hollie)

So that concludes my attempt at being creative/or somewhat comical. We'll miss you in Denver, but look forward to visiting/seeing you in Idaho. THANKS FOR BEING SUCH GREAT FRIENDS--GOOD LUCK IN SUN VALLEY!!

Avery is our Swing ADDICT. She LOVES the swing and it's almost impossible to get her off. She'll want to be pushed until your arm is falling off.

Happy EASTER--Avery's dress choice for the day was her bathing suit. Apparently, she did not want to be "dressed up" for the day. They stayed in their suits for the remainder of the morning, and then mom ruined their beach party........
by making them change their clothes to their Easter attire, it only worked with much bribery (which included candy and more candy).
